Welcome to Windmill Farm German Shepherds! We are located in Miller Grove, Texas, a tiny town about an hour east of Dallas. Our goal is to produce top-show quality German Shepherds that can compete in ANY arena, and that any family can live with. We have had German Shepherds since 1990, and have been showing in AKC conformation shows since 1995. We handle all of our dogs ourselves, and are proud that we have pointed many dogs from the Bred-By-Exhibitor class. We feel that this is the most important class in an AKC show, and we enter our best dogs in it. We believe that the German Shepherd should not be extreme--it should have the correct ground-covering effortless gait that a true herding dog could use all day. An extreme dog can't function properly! None of our dogs are extreme, only CORRECT!
We produce one to two top quality litters per year. We carefully screen both parents to be sure they are a good match and are healthy and sound. We only have litters when we have decided what will be the best combination for our next show dog. Because good show homes are hard to come by, top quality dogs that we have produced do go to "pet" homes. (In our opinion, ALL dogs are pets first, show dogs second!!) Our dogs all live in the house with our children and cats, so they are excellent family companions! |
