Passage To Eternity The virgin forest shyly hides Behind a sheet of silken green, Branches are leaning Touching the ground, As in a prayer A pathway opens allowing me glimpses At things unseen, Long lost images behind This passage to eternity Where time does not exist Gentle branches are shaping the wind’s music Giving it new form, Holding me captive with shimmers of light, Leaving me breathless, Standing still… Peeking between the trees The sun sets in golden hues Of splendid glory, Softly, silent thoughts Are cascading from my lips The forest undresses my soul Layer by layer of secrets and memories, Until I reveal myself In this pure light, Letting my heart reach out With the softness of green My spirit curves Following the contours Of this pristine, untouched world, Gliding with ease among the trees I pause and watch The subtle ripples of soft shadows Floating gracefully, Gently encircling me… A beautiful exile in this eternal moment Perhaps with just a whisper I sing a song, The prayer nature taught me… And like a child of the forest, I run free photography by Russ Sawdon |
