These are instructions on how to build a home hydroponics system. It’s a sophisticated drip system, it’s simple, easy to construct, and cheap to build. Hard to believe? Its true! A lot of kits out there are sophisticated but cost hundreds of dollars and are complicated. The problem with these kits it that when something goes wrong you have to fix it! And something always does go wrong with complicated kits that are hard to understand (imagine water everywhere! yikkss!! this hydroponics system will not over flow because a pump fails, or a valve doesn't work correctly).     With these instructions:  1) You can build a cheap and simple system for which little can go wrong,   2) Be better able to diagnose and fix any problem that might arise because you built the hydroponics system and understand how it works 3) Build an advanced type of  hydroponics system that will maximize plant growth and size when other growth factors are adequate  4) And impress your friends this unique way to grow plants in a space age system!
About This Unique System ·        It’s a Drip system that provides a near continuous supply of oxygen (roots need and love O2) and nutrient rich water to roots. This system along with ample light, appropriate temperature and nutrients maximize plant growth.  ·        Its simple. The whole system has less than a dozen parts! It is easy to fill and clean. It doesn’t even use a water pump.  ·        It’s easy to construct. One whole unite can be put together in 2-3 hours over a couple of days. And no special tools are needed. ·        The whole system can be made easily for under $35.00 if you go to the store and buy everything. But since many of the parts are common you may already have some and others are widely available for free through friends or local businesses.  If your good at scrounging around and coming up with things you can even build these for free or at a very low price.
A faster way to grow plants!   Growing plants from seed can be slow and you can never be sure what quality plants you will get!  There is a great solution for most plants: Cloning has a couple advantages over seeds. They will often grow faster. With clones you should have a pretty good idea of what kind of plant your going to get. Plants grown from the same packet seeds (especially for more exotic plants) can often vary greatly. Cloning allows you easily control quality and avoid the slow process of a seed becoming a young plant.  To start cloning you will first need a large adult plant. If you don't already have one, the plant can be started by seed. Buy high quality seeds, start at least twice the number of seeds as the number of adult plants you want, pick the most vigorously tasty plants to use as "mother plants". You may also be able to clone supermarket stock, buy the freshest samples you can find. Break off some of the bigger, outermost leaves until it is only a compact sprig is left. This is necessary to prevent the clone from loosing to much water through leaf perspiration.  I recommend using a rooting agent such as Dip N Grow, or Rootone to stimulate root growth. The first one is better, but hard to find( most likely a hydroponics store or on the internet). Rootone is sold at most garden stores. Follow the directions and slightly bury the clone  in a tray of wet vermiculite or a similarly airy, inert, material. The clone will need to be placed in a warm humid environment.  Warmth promotes root growth while humidity helps prevent the plant from losing h2o through perspiration (remember this is a plant with no roots to take up water, preventing it’s loss through the leaves is very important). Temperature varies depending on the variety of plant, 10 degrees above optimum, or low eighties as a general rule.  Heating pads or electric blankets can be used to keep the emerging roots warm and promote root growth. Humidity should be about 80%. A little “green house” can easily create these conditions. Placing an aquarium upside down on some kind of tray to catch drips works well.
