Grow hydroponic vegetables

Soil has been around for a long time and it sounds easier. Why not use it? The reasons are control and growth! Soil can be a wild card, especially when taken indoors and put into intensive cultivation. Bugs and other organisms are a big problem; dirt is the natural home of many of them and it often contains hundreds per gallon. Local soil and those sold at nurseries are often deficient in some micro nutrient just because of the location the soil came from. A large plant, such as a tomato, can quickly deplete a five-galloon container filled with soil of trace minerals plants need for optimum growth. In hydroponics these micronutrients are all added so deficiencies of one kind or another never slow a plants growth down. Drip systems, like this one, supply the maximum amount of nutrients and oxygen rich water that plant roots can use. This means the only limiting factors to plant growth are light and temperature, two things you can control easily.  Soil has too many variables to achieve maximum growth in a given time.
