Wind Energy Experimenters' Guide and Student Wind Energy Competition

  Wind Energy Experimenters

The Wind Energy Experimenters' Club is for noncommercial, low-cost wind energy investigations. These systems do not use commercial wind turbines but focus on home-built devices to investigate wind energy. As such, there is also interest in measurement devices for wind and electricity. Practical aspects of construction materials, costs, and estimation are frequent subjects. There may be various components designed for other uses that may be used for wind energy experiments; these lists will be solicited and updated to aid others.

We will share ideas and results freely to further interests in wind energy. This list will attract those who may not need energy for their home but desire a community of experimenters for common purposes.

Teachers and students are especially welcome here. We will support high school and college groups that are investigating wind energy. A standardized wind energy competition will be established.

Some webpages will be periodically updated in content. Some suggested topics are bearings, rotor materials, wind energy links, student wind energy competition, parts sources, turbine design, and data recording. Please email your suggestions and your information.
