The Runes

The runes were created by the Norse God Odin. The ones listed below are of the blum set, the elder set has 16, the younger has 24 and blum added the 25. the 25 is ok to use but it is not a norse rune. The runes are not fortune tellers, they are a way to consult an Oracle. There are 24 runes that belong to the three famillies called Aettir, they were named for the Norse gods Freyre, Hegal, and Tyr. The newest rune is the Blank rune, it is the 25th rune and does not belong to any of the three famillies. There are 5 ways to draw runes that i know of : Odin's rune, Three rune spread, Five rune spread, The runic cross, and Three lifetimes spread. Anyone can use runes, the runes were made to learn about the self so it doesn't really matter what you believe in as long as you are willing to change and learn you can use the runes,

Jera - Harvest, Fertile Season, One Year.

Othila - Separation, Retreat, Inheritance.

Sowelu - Wholeness, Lifeforce, The Sun's Energy.

Kano - Opening, Fire, Torch.

Uruz - Strength, Manhood/Womanhood, The Wild Ox.

Teiwaz - The Warrior, Tiw, The Sky God.
