AMERICAN FOOTBALL: IS IT JUST FUTURISTIC RUGBY?

SIXY-FOOTBALL
MORE BOYS TOO STRONG FOR TEACHERS AS THEY RUN IN HALF A DOZEN IN FIFTH ANNUAL FIXTURE
St Joe's Teachers 2-6 Tommy More Old Boys
Chris Kamara at The Cedars
This was supposed to be the game when the teachers finally proved they were a force to be reckoned with. It wasn't to be....
Months of preparation, extra training sessions, new recruits added to the squad, a healthy sized crowd and yet st joes again failed to match the youthful exuberrance of the tommy more old boys.
By the time the sixth goal went in the partizan crowd had been turned and the st joes players were begging for mercy. Some of the football played by the old boys, especially in the second half was a joy to watch as they defied the craters and crevices with well honed attacks
which had obviously been learnt on the training ground. Remember this was a brand new starting 11 and some of the players hadn't played in months due to lack of opponents.
I've seen some exciting goalless draws in my time, but this was even better. From the moment the deadlock was broken midway

CREVICE

through the first half, the tension evaporated and the game began to flow, although mainly in the direction of a win for tommy more.
Strikes from promising youngsters Michael
Robinson and Richard Gosling were punctuated with an equaliser for st joes. Then an own goal which will surely make Danny Bakers' next video gave a halftime score of 3-1

DANNY BAKER

The second half went the same way as the first with Marine hopeful Jack Murphy getting the fourth, before Gosling and then Robinson doubled their tallies to make it six after st joes had rallied back to 3-2.
So overall, another deserved victory and who's to bet against the same happening next time?
