It was on an early holiday to lake placid that a young michael was inspired to take up the age-old practice of ice skating. When sent out on errands to the local shop to buy twenty rothmans and a pack of farley's rusks, he realised he could save time by skating accross the lake instead of walking around it. Unfortunately for the chain smoking scamp it was the start of spring and the ice was melting so he learned how to swim instead and also found out about the metaphysical qualities of rusks and that they were much better in hot milk. Undeterred by this setback, the adolescent mr robinson honed his skating skills when escaping from the rozzers after 'dubbing up' bus stops and other public areas of New Eltham. While his law-breaking associates would only run away, mike could simply skate off as he had a pair of those roller skate trainers where the wheels folded into the sole. Always a trend setter, mike was rumoured to be the first in Eltham to wear LA Lights trainers and Naf Naf jackets. Now living in a more respectable part of town he no longer breaks the law with a permanent marker and can of spray paint, but then again there are many other ways of breaking the law. |
