Billy's physical description at induction into service was 5 foot 8 inches in height, weight 140 pounds, blonde hair and blue eyes. While training at Camp Lejune, NC, Billy met another Billy (William S.) Winesett. Both went to Iwo Jima.
Billy had a automobile body repair shop. He was listed as Billie on the social security records.
Brad says his father was an avid bowhunter and won many archery awards. He died on lung cancer. One of Brad's last memories of his father was of him teaching him how to shoot with a bow and to throw a baseball.

Brandon "Brad" is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He also is a licensed contractor and sole proprietor of Southwest Woodworks, a side business. He married 19-Jun-1993 Martha Eugenia Withheld in Snow Hill Baptist Church. They have two sons, Jake Conner (1999) and Evan Alexander (2002).
Sally married Lonnie Withheld. Children are Heather Marie (24-Jan-1985)who only lived a few hours and Daniel (3-Mar-1988).
Sherry has a BA from Virginia Tech and teach middle school. She is Married to Scot (Unknown).
Deanna Sue "Susie" has a BA from Radford University and attended Emory & Henry College in Emory VA, and teaches middle school. She is married to Ronald (Unknown).
