Spell Cards |
There are many types of spell cards. There are quick-play, normal, ritual, continous, fields, and equip cards. Also Spell Cards Were originally called magic cards, but Upper Deck changed it to spell cards. |
Here is a diagram of the layout of a spell card. |
For normal spell cards you can only activate them during your turn. |

For quick-play spell cards you can activate them during yours or your opponent's turn. For these cards they have a lightning bolt symbol to indicate that they are quick-play. |

For continous spell cards they stay on the field until they are destroyed. These cards have a double 0 symbol to indicate that they are continous. |

For ritual spell cards you must read what it says to bring out the required ritual monster card to the field. These cards have a fire in a goblet symbol to indicate that they are ritual spell cards. |

For equip spell cards you must equip them to any face up monster on the field. These cards have a cross symbol to indicate that they are equip spell cards. |
