The Rarest Legionnaire

The rarest Legionnaires were those built on GUY Trambus chassis. CVJ 709C was the second one (and there was only two) built for Penn Overland Tours. This vehicle was built to a MK I design at a time when Harringtons were already building the MK II body. It was fitted with 44 reclining seats, and had a Volkswagon air conditioning plant on the roof. There was also various other modifications to the body, mainly for additional strength on the long overland trek from England to India. (Notice the additional side windows.) We do know that this vehicle ended up in West Ireland, and we have been told that it was seen only a couple of months ago. (May 98) We would dearly love to have this vehicle as it would then allow us to have one of each chassis type that the Legionnaire body was built on.
