72 MMJ

72 MMJ is owned by Andrew Thomas and Stuart Graham. It's the only surviving MKI Legionnaire. It was new to Taylors Coaches of Meppershall and appeared at the 1964 British coach rally. When it was new, it had a two-tone pink livery, which the firm still uses today. This vehicle is also currently undergoing a major restoration, although it looks good, this picture was taken in the mid-eighties! The coach has been off the road for some six years now The body has gone in the normal Legionnaire places (body bearers and side locker and boot) but the work is being done to a very high standard. It has had the floor taken out so that access to the chassis is made easier. It has also had a new stainless steel exhaust made for it, which gives it a great sound. The Leyland 400 engine has benefited from having re-calibrated injectors and so it now sounds very sweet.

If you need a one off exhaust making, the chap who made the exhaust is willing to undertake other commissions, e-mail me for further details.
