Here's a tribute to my German Shepherd dog, Kato.  He is now seven years old and weighs 100 lbs.  He's my first full blooded dog and he's so smart, it's so unbelievable.  He knows over 150 words.  Sometimes it amazes me that he knows that many words.  We have to actually spell out some words so he wouldn't know what we're planning on doing such as "let's go", or "are you ready yet" otherwise he'll get too excited thinking he's going with us.  Here's some pictures of him.  Links to other dog websites will be added later.  There are several pictures here.  Please be patient, they might take a while to load.

Here he was at two months old.  The only way   to make him stay at that time was to let him nibble on my shoes.

Isn't he beautiful?  Ok so I'm biased!

Look at those ears!  I thought he was ready to fly.  He finally grew into them!

My niece Erica with Kato.  She was 3 years old at that time and never showed fear of Kato, he was 5 months old here!

I was dogsitting my brother and sister-in-law's part Mini Doberman Pinscher and Chihuahua dog at my house in January 1999.  This is a very brief second that I was able to make them stay and was able to take this picture.

No, he wasn't trying to have little Doby for a snack, they were just messing around!  I thought that was so cute!

This is the effect of earthquakes on dogs.

And here he is!  His favorite pose!

This was Kato's last day, August 28, 2003.  He was 11 1/2 years old and we had so much fun with him.
He was sick and would not eat and he couldn't climb the stairs anymore.  This was taken before
we took him to be euthanized.  We will miss him dearly.
