Background: she is born from repeated Recognition between Goldreed and Cold-eyes. They were opposites: she is silent, gentle, and somewhat overprotective, he was straightforward and urged his children to take care of themselves as soon as possible.
Firecat took after her father. She had many quarrels with her mother some ten years back, when she still treaded as if she was a child.
She went out for her soul name hunt at early age. Where her father encouraged her, knowing her skills, her mother still tried to hold her back, which annoyed her enormously. It took several years to reach a balance of sorts, but the death of Cold-eyes in hunting accident that tore her totally apart from her mother.
They are now, tentatively, trying to renew the bond. Firecat knows that even though they cannot, at least yet, be friends, Goldreed is nevertheless her mother and still loves her. The problem is, Firecat doesn't think love to be like a comfortable place to snuggle down and ignore the world, but like a friend's hand, held out to support in difficult situations, and a shoulder to lean against.
Firecat gets along with her brother very well, considering their vast differences. He doesn't cuddle her, but respects her, and she respects and loves him.
