Friendly free advertising Thanks to the News NT News, January 16, 1999 After the recent arrival of our son Logan Jack I placed an ad in the birth notices section. While out and about that same day, I purchased a baby book to record important events in our son's life. Opening the baby book I came to a page dedicated to "what the papers had to say..." I felt a little strange carefully gluing our little three-line ad in this vast blankness. The arrival of a new baby is an expensive event and I couldn't stretch our budget any further for a larger ad. I would like to thank the Northern Territory News for the beautifully presented, (also enhanced and much enlarged) copy of our ad sent to us. It fills the page nicely, well done! Treasure Your Weekender, July 10, 1999 Letters to the Editor columns in Darwin are usually filled with people whinging about some unimportant thing or other. I hope to set a shining example with this letter. I have experienced the ultimate in customer service here in Darwin and would like to share it's hiding place with your readers. Malak Shopping Centre hides a treasure who's approach to customer service is awesome. Her name is Trish and she runs the smaller of the two video shops. Trish drives an old VW, and always smiles. Her ability to make customers feel important is unmatched. Vote 1 Trish from the video shop, she's a legend. Thanks to NT mates NT News, December 13, 1999 After struggling as a writer for so long and finally becoming the Northern Territory Correspondent for a relatively new, southern based publication dealing mainly in toilet humour, I'd like to publicly thank some people who have believed in my ability all along. First of all I'd like to thank Doctor Claire, a medical legend. Her support of my goals went above and beyond the call of duty for any health care professional. Thank you hardly seems adequate. My first two photographs were published this week, in separate magazines! I'd also like to thank the boys from Pro-Plastering, whose virtual donation to me of a computer system has enabled me to keep writing long after my last word processor blew up. Not many hard workers can picture writing as a "real job", but Eric from Pro-Plastering has always supported my efforts. Thanks mate. Heartfelt thanks Northern Star, September 13, 2001 My friend has driven herself almost to the point of a seizure trying to organise the display of a painting done in Nimbin recently by Thai artist "Chang" and the Nimbin community to raise funds for Darcy Goodwin's 5 Loaves Mobile Kitchen. Denny's Upholstery not only helped frame the 5.5 x 2.5 metre painting but refused payment. Thanks Denny's, from the community, and especially my friend's therapist. |
