PERFECT PLAN, PERFECT ANSWER

We neglect prayer most of the time.  There are times we don’t recognize the results of prayer, especially if these are small things.  We often base the results of prayer on things that we see, and small things are hardly seen.  We may see them trivial, but in the eyes and plan of God, they are the right answers.  PERFECT would be the more appropriate word for God’s answers.

Last week during our mission trip to Sominot in Zamboanga del Sur, Cagayan de Oro (CdO) and Valencia in Bukidnon, the Lord showed us the importance of PRAYER.  As we all know, Mindanao is considered one of the most dangerous places in the Philippines.  Many Filipinos, including myself, have not considered going to Mindanao.  But the Lord put a burden in my heart to be part of this mission.  Even if I had some doubts, I went because I know He will protect me.

On our way back from Sominot, the Pastor of WIN – CdO informed us that a big confrontation between the military and the Muslim rebels has just erupted in Sulu.  That was not yet the big news.  He also told us that the road to Zamboanga del Sur and CdO through Lanao del Norte is one of the most dangerous routes in the whole Mindanao.  Along this route are frequent encounters between the military and Muslim rebels.  God’s protection was also manifested when we traveled to CdO from Bukidnon after 12 midnight.  In spite of those warnings, all we could say was “Praise the Lord” for His presence and perfect plans.

The whole trip was a success and to God be the glory.  I believe, without the prayers of our fellow believers in Christ, the trip could have been different.  We may not have realized the implications and dangers we faced.  We may look at this as a small response of God to the intercession of the church.  But for me, our safe passage added to the bigger picture of the importance of and need for prayers in our lives.

All for the Glory of God,

Pastor Vic
