My interests include researching my family tree, especially back to the early days of our Country, which blends well with my fascination with fabric & quilting. I first learned to sew almost 50 years ago and have created many items ranging from baby clothes to formal gowns. My love of fabric & sewing was captured by quilting and piecing several years ago when I discovered the art of Machine Quilting. I have been very fortunate in that I am able to combine all three of my current interest, (Shelties, Genealogy & Quilting) into the art of Fabric Piecing & Quilting.

Most of my art has been expressed in creating wall hangings (small quilts) which have ranged from the simple (a single Sheltie profile) to complex (a scene featuring a Sheltie). I have been very fortunate in that my work has received wide acceptance throughout the Sheltie World.

About a year ago, I was introduced to the book, Curves In Motion by Judy Dale, which led me to an unusual creative side of Sheltie piece work. Through the lessons in this book, I was able to create unique and unusual pieced Sheltie studies which for the most part are appliquéd & quilted on Jackets & Sweatshirts. The wall paper on this page is a sample of the pieced Sheltie head study.

CUSTOM CREATED SHELTIE PROFILE

All pieced Sheltie head studies are available in sable, black or Blue and contain 28 individual pieces of fabric. Each head study is made up of 3 different shades of color and 1 white on white fabrics. Each piece of fabric is cut to specifications and is carefully stitched to the adjoining piece of fabric.
