Cradles and Cradleboards...

  Indian people cherrish their children, as was evident by the elaborate adornment given to all things relative to the child.
  Cradleboards and baby carriers were fine examples of this adoration.

As there are over 500 Indian
Nations, there are many different styles of baby carriers.
  These are all examples of the Lakota and Cheyenne styles.
   To the right is a childs doll carrier made with the same care given to the actual child
carriers. The nurturing lessons of motherhood began in this way.
