| Data Protection The actis designed to regulate the use of automatically processed information relating to individuals and provision of services in respect of such information. The act contains provisions relating to registration by the data protection registrar of data users and persons carrying on computer bureaux and the rights of data subjects. There are certain exemptions from these provisions including personal data used only for the purposes of distribution or recording the distribution of articles or information to the data subjects and consisting of their names, addresses and other particulars neccessary for effecting the distribution. This exemption also applies if you have been asked whether you object to the data about you being held as mentioned above and you have not objected. It is also a condition of this exemption that the data is not disclosed or used unless the data subject has consented to such disclosure and use. It is not intended to disclose or use the data other than in relation to the distribution of articles to members. Members are advised that objections to data being held in this manner could cause considerable difficulty and extra work to WIRRAL AVIATION SOCIETY COMMITTEE MEMBERS and may result in delays in the dispatch of articles and information to members.
