January 11th 2003 Happy New Year! TWAS has had a great 2002. Our membership has stayed fairly constant, we have had a number of very successful visits, inluding Cosford and Mildenhall, and we've got some great projects lined up for 2003! First up is our Jetstream 41 project. We are currently negotiating with BAE SYSTEMS over the transfer of a Jetstream 41 aircraft, G-JMAC, to TWAS ownership. If successful, this aircraft will be put on display outside the Marriott hotel in Liverpool and will be looked after by TWAS volunteers. Stay tuned for the latest developments on this one. Our radio control model section is still in the process of looking for a home, but this should add another facet to our society when it becomes operational, hopefully by the summer. On the negative side, our long-standing relationship with Hooton Park has ended in less then favourable circumstances with TWAS withdrawing from the site. Although a significant amount of effort has been put into this project, TWAS felt that it was unwelcome and decided to concentrate its efforts on other projects, such as the J41. Well, 2003 looks like its going to be a great year, so keep an eye on our website for all the latest TWAS news!!! |

Delivered by the RAF recovery unit, the airframe will be preserved for display purposes by members of the newly formed 'Jetstream Club'.
