Post 130 Bylaws

  2. Post Bylaws-
  1. Objectives
  2. The Objective of Post No. 130 are:

  3. Membership
  4. Participation shall be open to ALL young adults of high school age who live in the surrounding area and are in senior high school or at LEAST 14 years of age. NO prospective participant shall be disqualified because of race, color, creed, sex, and/or sexual orientation. All participants must be enrolled as explorers and agree to the postcode and bylaws.

  5. Uniforms
  6. Uniforms are to be worn at EXPLORER training and/or Events ONLY!

  7. Attendance
  8. EVERY Post member is to attend ALL meetings with in reasonable limits. If a member "skips" a "Classroom" meeting before a "lab" without good reason, he/she WILL NOT be entitled to participate in the "lab." Excessive "unexcused" absences will disqualify any member from holding an officer position.

  9. Officers
    1. The elected officers shall be president, two (2) vice presidents, secretary, and treasurer. The president, with the approval of the Advisor, shall appoint activity chairs and make other assignments as needed.
    2. The normal term of office shall be for one (1) year starting on February 1. Elections shall be held in January.
    3. NO participants shall serve more than two (2) successive terms in the same office.
    4. The president shall appoint a nominating committee, which shall consist of three (3) participants. The committee shall interview and present a complete slate of candidates who have agreed if elected, to serve to the best of their abilities.
    5. On the night of the election, any member may present nominations from the floor. If the nomination is seconded and the candidate agrees to serve, he or she must be included on the ballot. Any member nominated but not in attendance can accept by providing written acceptance.
    6. All contested ballots shall be secret.
  1. Post Business
  2. Voting on all issues will be by simple majority, with the exception of changes or amendments to the bylaws, which will require two-thirds (2/3) vote of total participants.

  3. General Meetings
  4. General meetings will be held during the ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________.

     

  5. Officers Meetings
  6. Officers’ meetings will be held at least once a month at ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________.

  7. Dues
  8. Dues will be $0.00 per month.

  9. Money-earning Projects

All money-earning projects must be approved by a majority vote of post participants. Participants who do not participate in a project are not entitled to any benefits of funds earned. The advisor must approve ALL earning projects.
