***GOAL***

Jedi Padawan: The Padawans goal is to become a Jedi Knight (duh). The Padawan accomplishes this by gaining a certain amount of points during his training. The training consists of practice duels between his master to improve his saber skills.

Jedi Knight: To train the Padawan to knighthood and to progress to the status of Master

Jedi Master: To train Padawans and advise Knights. Once a council of Jedi is created, they have a seat to decide missions and allocations of materials, including Clone Troopers and Bounty Hunters. They share the duties of a General and can share information and plan strikes with the Army units. They cannot demand their participation.

Jedi Code

The Jedi Order, whether you join the dark-side or the light, is not a path of joy or ease. To become a Jedi character requires discipline and hard work. Also, one must realize that not all beings are able to become Jedi and even those who are force-sensitive may not be strong enough to control the force enough to become a Jedi.

Luckily, in this game, all it takes is your name on a waiting list (sorry to take all the magic out of it… of course then there’s midichlorians…)

As it says above, to become a Jedi your first step is to take a writing utensil and signing up at you local Jedi recruitment area… namely, your command post. Your General should have a sign-up sheet. These positions are appointed first come first serve. This will require patience… but that is a quality that all Jedi, light or dark, must possess. Once you have become a Jedi Padawan, it is only the beginning of a much larger and difficult life, a life full of trials, learning, and rules.

There are few things that both sides of the force must follow. One of the most important is that the jedi trainer is in charge, under no circumstance should a padawan or a knight go against the word of a master or against the word of the council. The light-side may be more lenient with this rule, however, the dark-side must adhere to this rule without question. If their word is not followed, the Jedi Council or Master can decide to “punish” (dark-side) or “discipline” (light-side) by either excluding him from battle, subtract points from his character, or suspend his use of a lightsaber for a time, replaced by a blaster and be forced to fight as a standard trooper. A second rule, standard through out both Orders, is that there can only be two, a trainer and an apprentice. No trainer can have more than one apprentice.

Here are the rules for saber dueling. Two opponents engage in lightsaber combat. Points are made by lightly striking the opponents right and left legs. It takes two hits to each leg to gain a victory. However, to kill an opponent for that battle, a finishing move of lightly touching the saber to the neck or chest area must be made. If this finishing move is made during a training duel for the light side, the Jedi is given an automatic 4 transgression points, a major deduction of character points for “out of character” play, and expulsion from 5 battles as a Jedi character. However, if this turn of events is part of the character’s progression, the assassination attempt must consult through the Head Game Master who will relay his intentions to the Jedi trainer of the apprentice. This will allow the trainer to attempt to defend himself and prepare for the attempt. This will make all the punishments above void and the character will be automatically transferred to the Sith. The Sith apprentice will follow the same punishment if the attempt is not confirmed with the Head Game Master (major deduction of points and expulsion). The transgression points do not apply to the Sith Order.

For the light-side, it is possible for a Jedi to fall to the dark-side. After a number of transgressions against the Jedi Code are made, the Head Council Member (a GM) may decide that the Jedi has fallen to the dark side. If a Jedi with more than five transgressions is not transferred to the Sith Order, the entire Jedi Order begins to take a transgression point per game regardless of their dedication to the light-side.

For the dark-side, it is possible for a Jedi to repent and become a light-side Jedi. This is very difficult. One way is during actual battle duels, you must allow the Jedi to survive the encounter. However, 15 jedi must be spared. If the dark-sider decides to attempt his redemption, he must express this to the Head Game Master before hand. Before, during (break-time only), and after battles, a fellow Sith may report the dark-sider’s attempt to the Sith Council. The High Sith Lord will then consult with the Head Game Master to confirm whether the dark-sider is attempting the defection. If it is confirmed, then the High Sith Lord will initiate a battle to the death against the dark-sider. If the dark-sider wins and spares the Sith Lord’s warrior’s life, he is completely redeemed from the dark-side and may join the light. If the Sith Lord’s warrior wins, the dark-sider’s character will be executed.

If any Jedi decides to leave their Order by his/her own free will, they will be expelled from their faction and will result automatically joining the bounty hunter/freelance faction. If a Master leaves and is in possession of troops, they all have the option of leaving with him to join the freelance faction. However, without an Imperial/Rebel affiliation, many resources, equipment, and experience opportunities will be denied.
