What is all of this?

Welcome to my "official" website, Wisdom's Zen. You have made a great choice by being here. Or, perhaps you were led here by accident. Either way, I am glad that you have decided to visit. Putting together this site, my site, has taken some time. And, it seems that I have procrastinated for so long that I cannot believe that there is actually something here now! Of course, I am somewhat obsessive, so expect changes on an ongoing basis. This site is a "work in progress!"

So, what is "Wisdom's Zen?"

Well, first of all, the name comes from a play on words. The word "Sophia" (the name of the street on which I live) is the Greek translation of the Hebrew "Hochmah," the feminine personification of Wisdom in the Pentateuch. Combine that with a pun on "Sophia's end" (my home is the last one near the end of a city block) and "Wisdom's Zen" appears. Clever, huh? (The word "zen" (Chinese: Ch'an) is a translation of the Sanskrit word Dhyana, meaning "to meditate," and means "good" or "right" in Japanese, by the way. And, given my affinity to things Oriental, it just made sense.) Of course, the whole name adds a bit of mystery, too, thus underscoring my decision to choose it.

However, "Wisdom's Zen" is more than just a name.

It's an attitude.
