chapter 5
Guess what time it is, boys and girls. That's right, PROM TIME! Everyone was busy getting dressed, putting on makeup...buying condoms, but that's another story. Lenneth was putting on her favorite pink lipgloss in the vanity mirror when a knock filled the room.
"Come in!" Lenneth called. It was her mom.
"Ready?" her mom asked. Lenneth nodded and closed the tiny gloss bottle. They were going to do a little last minuet accessorie shoping. In the car, Lenneth's mom decided to strike up a conversation.
"So, how are things at school?" she asked. Lenneth sighed.
"It's fine." the young girl answered. Silmeria was idly playing Gameboy Advance, barely listening.
"And Lucian?"
"He's ok, iguess. I might break up with him." Lenneth answered. Her mother gasped.
"Whatever for?" Lenneth explained the whole thing with Platina.
"You poor dear. How about we go to Tiffany's and then to Armani Exchange!" her mother offered. Lenneth cheered. She loved drowning her sorrw with shoping.
Lezard was trying on his suit for the second time. It was black with white pinstripe and dimaond cuff links and a matching hat.
"Ohh...Lezard, you look fabulous!" his mom said in awe. He thought so too. He took off the jacket and flung it over his shoulder, modeling for his mom. Just then, the phone rang.
"Hello?...Oh hi, Lisa. Oh yes he's right here." Ms. Valeth said into the phone then she handed it to her son.
"Yeah? Yeah, I got it. Ok, and don't forget my twenty dollars! Ok, later" and he hung up. (Don't worry about the phone call, it was the only idea I had for this part -_-)
"What did she want?" Lezard's little brother, Bellion, asked. Bellion was a strange little ten-year-old. He died the tips of his black hair green and he wore piercing green contacts.
"Don't worry about what she wanted. She didn't want you."
Lisa was doing her hair in the vanity mirror. She was going to have it up in pig tails with black locks falling over her eyes. 'I wonder what Ull wanted to tell me.' Lisa thought. It couldn't have been important if he didn't make her listen. But, then again, Ull wasn't the type to make anyone do anything. The young girl picked up the phone and dialed Ull's number. It rang once, twice, three times.
"Hello?" It was Ull's dad
"Hi, is Ull there?"
"Yes, hold on." Lisa twisted the phone cord around her index finger.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Ull-chan. What did you wanna tell me?" Lisa asked
"Uhh...I-I'll tell you at prom, ok?"
"um...ok. Bye" and they hung up. Lisa put her head down on the vanity table. This was going to be a long night.
The moment everyone had been waiting finnaly came. Lenneth and Lezard pulled up in a black Mercedes Benz. Like most of the girls, Len-chan looked like a princess wearing a light blue beaded A-line dress with spagetti straps and that tied twice in the back. Around her neck she wore a Tiffany's diamond necklace.
The gym was done up beautifuly, seeing as the theme was Titanic Dreams. There were life savers (no, not the candy -_-) hanging on the walls. Blue mesh streamers were draped across the gym and the tables were decerated with light blue and white table cloth. It was gorgeous.
Lenneth starred in awe at the different colors, which were a big change from their normal school colors.
"It's somethin' isn't it?" Lezard said, his arms crossed over his chest. He hadn't seen anyone he knew yet. But, speaking of the devil...
"Lez-chan!" It was Lisa, with Ull close behind. Lisa looked almost different. She was wearing a black strapless a-line sress with a mesh overlay. On her wrists she wore a pyramid cuff and a spiked band and a bow chocker around her neck. Elegent, yet punky. Ull was dressed almost the same way in his black suit with a saphire brooch on his shirt.
"Hello, princess." Lisa teased, feigning a curtsy(sp?) Ull smiled at his date. Then he turned to Lenneth.
"Which reminds me. You won't believe who we just saw." he said, sipping his drink.
"Lucian?" Lenneth asked. Ull nodded. So, Lucian was here, and with that little bubble-brain no doubt.
"Uh oh. I know that look. What did he tell you?" Ull asked.. Lenneth told the three what Lucian told her. The three punks looked at eachother then back at the girl.
"I'm not a 'friend' expert, but what they were doing was not something that 'just friends' do." Lisa said.
"What were they doing?" Lezard asked. 'Bout time he spoke up.
"They were all hugged up and kissing and stuff." Ull answered, taking another sip from his drink, Lisa took Lenneth's hands and looked her in the eye.
"Do you wanna see, princess?" she asked, not joking this time. Lenneth thought for a moment. Did she really wnt to see the truth, or just beleiveve what her so-called boyfriend had been telling her. Lenneth finally nodded and Lisa took her where they last saw Lucian. Lo and behold, there was Lucian and the little trick Platina, arms wraped around eachother frenching.
Lisa gave Lenneth a friendly hug and told her it would be ok, that there were plenty of fish in the sea. Lenneth just wanted to be alone for a moment and went out to sit on the fountain in the school garden.
The little punk girl wasn't going to let them get away with that. She tapped the two on the shoulder and they both looked at her with sour faces. Lisa reeled her hand back and *WHAP* The girl walked off, leaving two bitch-slaped teens.
Lezard met Lenneth at the fountain where she held her face in her hands, crying. The boy sat down next to her and decided to speak.
"Lenneth, I'm sorry. You souldn't have had to go through all this." Lenneth shook her head.
"Don't be. It's not your fault. I should have known. I-It's just...I beleived him all these times. He looked me in the eyes and lied to me." the young girl sobbed, her head on Lezard's shoulder. she was lucky to have someone like him to go to.
Ull pulled Lisa aside during a song and took her to the rose maze outside of school (it's a big school : P) He said that he had something important to tell her.
"Lisa, we've known eachother for a while now, right?" Ull asked. Lisa nodded and asked,
"Ull, what are you trying to say" Ull tried to find the words but he failed, so he droped Lisa's hands and grabed her shoulers, pressing his lips against hers. Whoo! Go Ull!
Lenneth had stopped crying and she and Lezard had made small talk.
"Lenneth, do you remember the note I wrote you?" the boy asked. Len-chan nodded.
"Sure. I take with me everywhere." she answered. Lezard seemed shocked by her response, but continued
"I just wanted you to know, I meant every word." the two starred into eachothers eyes for a moment. Lenneth pressed her lips against Lezard's and they stayed that way for a short moment. After they pulled apart, a shrill voice filled the air.
"Lenneth! I saw it all! I knew you two would be together!" Frei cried like a hyperactive otaku (hehe ^_^)Frei looked good. She wore a black sleeveless v-neck dress with pink fringe peeping from underneath. Lenneth blushed and Lezard just smirked.
"Oh, hey, are you ready, we're almost on. Lisa and Ull are getting ready." Frei informed. The boy nodded and stood up.
"Lenneth, are you coming?" Lenneth nodded.
Mrs. Lorneta was standing up on stage in front of a deep blue vevet curtain, signaling for the students to be quiet
"I'm pleased to introduce a group from our very own shool, Then Again!" The curtain rose to reveal our favorite four punks, Lisa on a pink bass guitar, Lezard on a black electric, Ull on drums, and Frei on key board (A/N: I don't know if there's keyboard in this song, but let's just say there is)
The song started on a punk rock beat and Lisa started singing.
*He was a boy, she was a girl. Can I make it any more obvious.
*He was a punk, she did ballet. What more can I say.
*He wanted her, she'd never tell. Secretly she wanted him as well.
*But all of her friends, stuck up their nose. They had a problem with his baggy clothes.
Frie joined Lis' with the chorus
*He was a skater boy, she said "See ya later boy" He wasn't good enough for her
*She had a pretty face, but her head was up in space. She needed to come back down to Earth
The crowd seemed to enjoy the song. 'Despite all that's happend, this prom was a real blast' Lenneth thought
*Five years from now, she sits at home feeding the baby, she's all alone.
*She turns on TV, guess who she sees. Skater boy rockin' on MTV.
*She calls up her friends, they already know. They've all got tickets to see the show.
*She tags along, stands in the crowd looks up at the that she turned dowwwn.
Frei joined Lis' in the chorus again,
*He was a skater boy, she said "See ya later boy" He wasn't good enough for her
*Now he's a super star, slammin' on his guitar, does your pretty face see whatt he's worth
The beat slowed down a little
*Sorry girl but you missed out. Well tough luck that boy's mine now
*We are more than just good friends. This is how the story ends.
*Too bad that you couldn't see, see the man that boy could be.
*There is more that meets the eye. I see the soul that is inside
Frei took over with singing, and her attention was specifically on Loki
*He's just a boy, I'm just a girl. Can I make it any more obvious.
*We are in love haven't you heard. How we rock eachother's worrrrld.
*I'm with the skater boy, I said "See ya later boy" I'll be backstage after the show
*I'll be in the studio singin' a song he wrote, about a girl he used to know

And the song was over.The teens cheered and clapped as the curtains closed. Lenneth and Loki went to meet Frei and Lezard back stage.
"You guys were awsome!" Lenneth cheered. Loki had to agree. The group said their thanks while packing up. Well, all except for a certain brunette.
"Len-chan, I meant to give you this earlier." Lezard said, handing Lenneth a black velvet box. Inside was a platinum diamond tennis braclete. Len-sama starred in awe. Sure, she could have bought it herself, but geeting it as a gift from Lezard made her feel fuzzy inside. The girl draped her arms around the boy's neck and kissed him again. Oh yeah. This was one helluva prom, all right.
