• Faeries - A race of the Otherworld beings who have long been connected with Witches.
• Faerie Burgh - Mound of earth which covers a faerie colony's underground home.
• Faerie Kingdom – The realm of the faeriers.
• Familiar - A spirit or guardian who is close to a human being and considered a companion in magick. The spirit often manifests itself in a sacred object or a pet. This explains the misconception that all witches have black cats, which is not necessarily true though a cat is a magickal creature and often does become a familiar.
• Fam-Trad - Short for family tradition, witch craft that is passed down through the generations.
• Fascination - A mental effort to control another animal or person's mind. It has been referred to as "mind-bending." Although the technique of fascination runs a borderline when considering humans, it should not be totally trashed. Using it for a love spell would be unethical, and much like committing psychological rape. But if you found yourself in an unsafe situation where your person (or friend or family member) is in real physical danger. I wouldn't have the guts to tell you not to use all the tools and skills available to you.
• Fate - You make and control your own fate, unlike destiny. (See Destiny).
• Flora - Roman; Goddess of Spring and Birth. For beautiful flowers, babies, and all bounties of Earth Mother.
• Feng Shui - Ancient Chinese art of arranging objects in harmony with the earth’s environment & energy lines. The term literally translates to "Wind and Water" but it refers to all the five Asian elements. Arranging objects and structures in the appropriate positions according to the system of Feng Shui allows for a healthy flow of spiritual energy or Chi.
• Fetch - An old word used to denote the projected astral body of a person; a form that is deliberately sent on a mission, usually to collect information.
• Fetish - Natural or cultural object, said to have magical power, either from a will of it's own or imbued with a blessing from the God or Goddess.
• Fey - Like or of the faerie.
• Fire - Second element in the alchemical tradition; the essence of purification and change; the element of the South and the nature of the will.
• Fire Festivals - The first fire festivals were Beltane and Samhain, Imbolgc and Lammas were added later. These four festivals are four of the main holidays for wiccans, they are associated with planting, harvesting, and hunting ceremonies.
• Five-fold Kiss - *See Blessed Be* A ritual practice used by Gardnerian and Alexandrian Witches, and practiced between a man and a woman.
• Flagellation - Art or practice of ritual scourging (often used by some Wiccan Traditions). It is a method of raising magical energy. The technique is normally applied in a gentle, but steady, manner for the purpose of altering consciousness by drawing blood away from the brain. Since the 1960s, the use in Witchcraft rituals has greatly declined.
• Folklore - Traditional sayings, cures, faerie tales, and folk wisdom of a particular locale which is separate from their mythology.
• Folk Magick - The Practice of projecting personal power, as well as the energies within natural objects such as herbs, and crystals, to bring about needed changes.
• Fortuna - Roman Goddess of fortune, Goddess of Fate.
• Four Quarters - (Watch-towers or Guardians.): Astral entities associated with the Elements of the four Cardinal Directions. The Guardians are used by Ceremonial Magicians and many Wiccan's to watch over a ritual and provide protection at the Four Quarters of the Magick Circle.
• Freya/Freyja - Norse Goddess of fertility, sexual liberty, abundance, and war.
• Freys - Scandinavian; Moon Goddess and wife/lover of Odin. Also commander of the Valkyries.
• Frigg - Norse Goddess of marriage, household management, and love, Queen of Heaven, and wife of Odin.
• Full Moon - The phase of the Moon in which all of its light is revealed. The period leading up to it is called the Waxing Moon. Witches frequently  meet on a Full Moon for rituals and to use this power for Magick.
• Futhark - Runic alphabet used often in divination, its origins are Norse (Germanic). Divided into the elder Futhark and the younger Futhark (which has fewer runes).
