I expect that many of us have a wide selection of books connected to the Craft. I have found, however, that some of the most relevant information has been found in the more obscure publications. Several books concerned with spirits and hauntings may contain detailed references to a specific Witch and her life ~ and within those pages you could find a hint to how that Witch used her magick and power. Some herbal books will contain a list of folk remedies that are, in fact, simple spellworkings. Keep a look out in second-hand bookshelves for those books ~ you may discover more than you thought you might.
Listed here are a few of the books that I have on my bookshelf ~ though mixed in with these are many others, with material inside that (although it doesn't seem so on the outside) I have found invaluable.
I do not think that any one book has all the answers ~ and any book written is likely to be personal to the author, so expect to disagree with some things as well as finding other bits useful. Some of the books on my personal bookshelf I feel have 'grown out of', some others I find invaluable. Many books I look at now and ask myself 'why did I buy that?' ... but whether I read through those books now or not, I know that they all contain information that is useful to someone... and it's always a good idea to learn how another Witch follows their Path. |
