The First set of dice from the D&D Basic Red boxed set. Had many, many battles with this set. I still have the books, and the crayon that was used to fill in the numbers. I wonder if I should re-crayon them.

I used a red crayon so I could tell the difference between the first set of dice I got, and this set, from the Blue Expert boxed set. Sadly, the Green Companion, Black Masters, and Gold Immortal boxed sets didn't include a set of dice.

My Car Fire Survivor Set. All six of these black d6's were in the front right seat of my car when it caught fire. (No, the didn't start the fire.) The car was completely burned out.. nothing but a shell. Amazingly, even though there was no more "front of the car", these dice survived the heat, flames, smoke, and water.

Here it is. That God Awful Yellow D4. I got this from a gumball machine a long, long time ago. (No, it wasn't all filled with dice, it was just random junk.

Ever wonder what's inside some of these dice? I did too, but never had the heart to smash one open. Unfortunately for me, one of my dice developed a crack in it, and finally split. And here it is.

Someone was asleep on the job and forgot to paint one of the pips on this neat die. So... does that mean that the number is a 6, or is it a 5?

I picked up this set of green d6's at a flea market. I didn't see anything I really wanted, (nobody was selling any game material there..) and then I saw this guy with a display box of regular dice. He had white, red, and green. I thought the green looked neat, so I picked up this pair.
Now it gets creepy. I had written a short script for one of my video production classes. The story was about two fellows gambling at cards. The Devil shows up, and is going to force them to play once more, the looser's soul going to him. The cards are played, and the cards that are revealed from both players are all 7's. (Lucky number 7!) The devil flips over the deck to reveal ALL the cards are showing 7. (One of the characters prays that if he gets out of this mess, he'll never gamble again. The other agrees... Divine intervention.) Peeved, the devil disappears. One of them leaves, and the other stops at the spot where the devil disappered. There is a pair of dice. He scoops up the dice thoughtfully. The idea originally was to have the dice set as snakeeyes, and we'd do an effect where the devil's eyes could be seen superimposed with the pips.
It was late, so we just tossed the dice down and filmed. (Yes, these dice.) As we were editing, we saw that the dice had come up seven.

This used to be a keychain, but I lost the chain. What sick person drills a hole in dice? (Yeah, they do it at casinos to mark which dice are "used", ubt I still think that's a bit extreme and cruel.)

My wife gave me the red d30 as a gift, and I always use it to play Magic: The Gathering. (What, you don't think I'm going to stay on 20 life, do you?) I picked up the blue d30 as a companion to the red one.

The first dice I picked up that weren't part of a set. Picked up because they certainly were different than the original dice I had.

Various set of odd dice. Alignment dice, Weather dice, skull die and hit location die.

How can you not like Glow in the Dark dice? Pink, green and yellow.

I imagine these solid pewter dice would hurt if thrown at you. These things are HEAVY, and would surely dent and ding any table. But they're so cool! (And, they are standard sized.. these aren't those tiny dice!)

My first 30 sided die was the yellow one. Shortly after, I picked up the green one. The yellow one is numbered oddly, and I still can't figure out a use for it. It's numbered 0 to 9, then +0 to +9, and finally -0 to -9.

My other 30 sided dice. The orange one is defective, though. A warp on one of the edges prevents it from rolling some numbers. The dice themselves are a different quality from the red and blue 30 sided dice shown above. The ones above are a heavier, thicker plastic, with a more solid outer shell. (Whatever they cover it with.) These are lighter.

A free die from Dragon Magazine. I'm not big on the shape, and the thing is tiny, and thus, easy to lose. But hey... it was free! Can't beat that!

I never really liked glitter dice, but my wife got me this set while we were dating.

"Vortex" dice are what these are called, but it looks like a melted hot fudge sundae to me! Yummy! In roleplaying games, "Fudging" is essentially cheating, so I like to use these dice as my cheat dice. I'll roll them, but then make up the results, if I don't like what's rolled.

These are large dice! The purple d20 is "normal" sized to show scale.

A blue set of large dice.

My wife's set of large dice. (Might as well show them, too.)

Okay, while the gee-wiz factor is there because of the odd shapes, I really don't like these dice. For starters, they're all different sizes.. It's akward to hold them, and roll them. Just look at the size difference between the largest and smallest! (At some point, I'll re-scan them with a d20 to show scale.) That square looking one has 4 sides, but I'm used to dice that shape having 6 sides. And on some of them, it's difficult to tell which number is on top. Especially the 20 sided one! AND it's difficult to "roll" since it doesn't stop rolling... It just keeps rolling, and rolling and rolling. It needs clearer, flatter sides to it.

Yes, a second set. Only because when I first picked up these dice, I couldn't make a complete set. So, I picked up two different colors, and made them as sets later.
