  Text Box: Tourism at Risk.  Actually, the  Dominican Republic is a very corrupted country. It  has been ranked #87all over the world.   The number of people who are starving  have increased drastically n this country: kids, elders, workers, etc. All kind of felonies against tourists are committed in this country. An average increase of 7% per month  have been affecting the  tourism in the Dominican Republic since the last quarter of the year 2004 due to lack of security. Delinquency, burglary, assaults, robberies, stabbing and killing are an every day activity against everybody. Specially tourists, who are an easy target. Tourists can not leave the hotels alone because of lack of security.  In this country, tourists lives are totally at risk.
