Synopsis:

In the second chapter of the Matrix trilogy, Neo assumes greater command of his extraordinary powers as Zion falls under siege to the Machine Army. Only a matter of hours separates the last human enclave on Earth from 250,000 Sentinels programmed to destroy mankind. But the citizens of Zion, emboldened by Morpheus's conviction that the One will fulfill the Oracle's Prophecy and end the war with the Machines, rest all hope on Neo, who finds himself stalled by disturbing visions as he searches for a course of action. Neo and Trinity choose to return to the Matrix with Morpheus to fight the systematic forces of repression and exploitation. On his treacherous journey toward further insight into the construct of the Matrix and his pivotal role in the fate of mankind, Neo will confront greater resistance, an even greater truth and a more impossible choice than he ever imagined.
This was a much-anticipated film by yours-truly, and it did not disappoint.  The special effects were of course extraordinary, and the fight choreography certainly outdid the first installment.  The story seems to plod a bit towards the end in my opinion, but there is a method to the Wachowski brothers’ madness….both Parts Two and Three were shot back-to-back, and as expected, they pulled a big cliff-hanger at a crucial scene!  The rumour you heard is true…if you stay put at the end of the movie and get through the ending credits (which took a long while, I might add), there are indeed scenes from the upcoming third installment of The Matrix saga…it is basically the teaser trailer that movie studios put out months in advance to the general release of a film (only thirty seconds), but it most certainly whets your appetite!  The third film in the series is scheduled for a November 2003 release.  I give "Reloaded" 8 out of 10 stars.
