1. Dennis1 Burgin (Thomas2), son of Thomas Burgin and Anne, was born in Baltimore Co., MD November 23, 1743. Dennis died 1821 Madison Co., KY, at 77 years of age. His body was interred in Providence Methodist Church ce, Madison Co., KY.
He married Jane. Jane was born ca 1750. Jane died before 1833 in Madison Co., KY. Her body was interred in Providence Methodist Church ce, Madison Co., KY. Jane became the mother of Charles Burgin ca 1768. Jane became the mother of Thomas Burgin ca 1770.
Dennis became the father of Charles Burgin ca 1768. Dennis became the father of Thomas Burgin ca 1770. Dennis Burgin first appears in Madison County Court records in February, 1787. According to family tradition, he took part in the abortive attempt to settle Kentucky in 1773 led by William Russell and Daniel Boone. It is also claimed he was one of the roadcutters who cleared a path to Boonesborough in 1775 and he was in the fort at Boonesborough. No proof of these family traditions seems to exist at this time. Dennis served for a year in the North Carolina Continental Line during the Revolutionary War. He was buried at the Providence Methodist Church in Madison County. The Church was moved and the graveyard may no longer exist.

(now WV), February 11, 1783. Mary became the mother of Nancy Burgin after 1776. Mary became the mother of

Isaac became the father of Nancy Burgin after 1776. Isaac became the father of Sally Burgin after 1776. Isaac became the father of Isaac Burgin ca 1785.

1792.

Nancy Burgin. Nancy died after 1833. She married twice. She married Nathaniel
Tevis. She married Benjamin Harris Madison Co., KY, June 14, 1792. Benjamin was born in
Albemarle Co., VA November 28, 1760. Benjamin was the son of Christopher Harris and Agnes McCord.

Margaret became the mother of Mourning Burgin ca 1796. Margaret became the mother of Lewis Burgin ca 1800.

1793. At 21 years of age Lucy became the mother of John Burgin Madison Co., KY, January 10, 1794. At 25 years of age
Lucy became the mother of Elias Burgin November 1, 1797. Lucy became the mother of Achilles Burgin ca 1798.
Lucy became the mother of Cynthia Burgin ca 1802. Lucy became the mother of Elizabeth Burgin ca 1805. At 33 years
of age Lucy became the mother of Temple Burgin in Madison Co., KY, October 20, 1805.
Thomas became the father of Allen Burgin ca 1793. At 23 years of age Thomas became the father of John Burgin Madison Co., KY, January 10, 1794. At 27 years of age Thomas became the father of Elias Burgin November 1, 1797. Thomas became the father of Achilles Burgin ca 1798. Thomas became the father of Cynthia Burgin ca 1802. Thomas became the father of Elizabeth Burgin ca 1805. At 35 years of age Thomas became the father of Temple Burgin in Madison Co., KY, October 20, 1805. Thomas Burgin first appears in local records in 1791. This may have been when he first became 21.
