She married Samuel Hinds in Augusta Co., VA, August 7, 1787. Samuel was born in Virginia circa 1750. Samuel was the son of John Hinds and Jane Kerr. Samuel died circa 1828 in Jefferson Co., IN. Samuel's occupation: Farmer. Samuel became the father of John Hinds circa 1789. At 39 years of age Samuel became the father of Sarah (Sally) Hinds January 12, 1790. Samuel became the father of Polly Hinds before 1793. At 47 years of age Samuel became the father of Francis Hinds in Fayette Co., KY, September 21, 1797. Samuel became the father of Samuel Hinds, Jr. in Fayette Co., KY, before 1801. Samuel became the father of Jane Hinds before 1802. Samuel became the father of Nancy Hinds in Fayette Co., KY, after 1803. At 54 years of age Samuel became the father of Matilda Ann Hinds in Fayette Co., KY, February 26, 1805. Samuel Hinds first appeared on the 1793 tax list for Fayette County, Kentucky. This must have been about the time he came to Kentucky. In 1798 he purchased 192.5 acres on the waters of Hickman Creek. I believe this is land now on the DeLong Pike. It was eventually purchased by a Young.

Jane became the mother of John Hinds circa 1789. At 34 years of age Jane became the mother of Sarah (Sally) Hinds January 12, 1790. Jane became the mother of Polly Hinds before 1793. At 42 years of age Jane became the mother of Francis Hinds in Fayette Co., KY, September 21, 1797. Jane became the mother of Samuel Hinds, Jr. in Fayette Co., KY, before 1801. Jane became the mother of Jane Hinds before 1802. Jane became the mother of Nancy Hinds in Fayette Co., KY, after 1803. At 49 years of age Jane became the mother of Matilda Ann Hinds in Fayette Co., KY, February 26, 1805.

Jane Francis and Samuel Hinds had the following children:

4 iii. John Hinds was born circa 1789. John died circa 1827. He married Margaret McMillan December 21, 1815.

5 iv. Sarah (Sally) Hinds was born January 12, 1790. Sarah died August 30, 1834 at 44 years of age. She married Ninian Riley in Fayette Co., KY, December 30, 1816.

6 v. Polly Hinds was born before 1793. She married Samuel Rankin in Fayette Co., KY, September 22, 1813. Samuel was born before 1793.

7 vi. Francis Hinds was born in Fayette Co., KY September 21, 1797. Francis died October 16, 1847 in Jefferson Co., IN, at 50 years of age. His body was interred in Valley Cemetery, Jefferson Co., IN. He married Elizabeth Bell in Fayette Co., KY, December 23, 1818.

Francis's occupation: Postmaster.

8 vii. Samuel Hinds, Jr. was born in Fayette Co., KY before 1801. Samuel died 1832 Camargo, Montgomery Co., KY, at 31 years of age. His body was interred. He married Eleanor Dinwiddie in Jessamine Co., KY, February 16, 1824. Eleanor was born in Jessamine Co., KY circa 1803. Eleanor was the daughter of James Dinwiddie and Eleanor Lockridge. Eleanor died circa 1837 Camargo, Montgomery Co., KY. Her body was interred. At 22 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Tilford Dinwiddie Hinds December 25, 1825. Eleanor became the mother of Eleanor Jane Hinds circa 1828. At 26 years of age Eleanor became the mother of Mary Helen Hinds Camargo, Montgomery Co., KY, March 3, 1830.

Samuel's occupation: Farmer. At 24 years of age Samuel became the father of Tilford Dinwiddie Hinds December 25, 1825. Samuel became the father of Eleanor Jane Hinds circa 1828. At 29 years of age Samuel became the father of Mary Helen Hinds Camargo, Montgomery Co., KY, March 3, 1830.

9 viii. Jane Hinds was born before 1802. She married Moses McIlvain in Fayette Co., KY, March 30, 1822.

10 ix. Nancy Hinds was born in Fayette Co., KY after 1803. She married Allen Burgin in Fayette Co., KY, November 12, 1825. Allen was born ca 1793. Allen was the son of Thomas Burgin and Lucy Deatherage. Allen became the father of Clayton Burgin ca 1831. Allen became the father of Armelda Burgin ca 1837.

Nancy became the mother of Clayton Burgin ca 1831. Nancy became the mother of Armelda Burgin ca 1837.

11 x. Matilda Ann Hinds was born in Fayette Co., KY February 26, 1805. Matilda died August 31, 1837 at 32 years of age. She married John M. Huddleson in Fayette Co., KY, May 24, 1824.

12. John² Francis (William³) was born circa 1719. John died 1786 Augusta Co., VA, at 67 years of age.

He married Mary Erwin ca 1750. Mary was born ca 1734. Mary was the daughter of Matthew Erwin and Elizabeth. Mary died 1795 at 61 years of age. At 14 years of age Mary became the mother of William Francis 1748. At 21 years of age Mary became the mother of Jane Francis in Virginia, 1755.

At 29 years of age John became the father of William Francis 1748. At 36 years of age John became the father of Jane Francis in Virginia, 1755.

John Francis and Mary Erwin had the following children:

13 i. Ann¹ Francis. She married William Hinds. William was the son of John Hinds and Jane Kerr. William died in Indiana.

14 ii. Margaret Francis. She married John Hogshead.

15 iii. Martha Francis. She married Alexander Hinds Augusta Co., VA, August 23, 1787. Alexander was the son of John Hinds and Jane Kerr.

16 iv. Elizabeth Francis.

17 v. Agnes Francis.

18 vi. Mary Francis. She married James Griffith.

19 vii. William Francis was born 1748.

+ 1 viii. Jane Francis was born 1755.

20. Mary² Erwin (Matthew³, Rev. James⁴) was born ca 1734. Mary died 1795 at 61 years of age.

She married John Francis ca 1750. John was born circa 1719. John was the son of William Francis and Ann. John died 1786 Augusta Co., VA, at 67 years of age. At 29 years of age John became the father of William Francis 1748. At 36 years of age John became the father of Jane Francis in Virginia, 1755.
