He married four times. He married Mrs. Martha (Cameron) Massey. He married Elizabeth Patterson 1774. Elizabeth died circa 1783 in Kentucky. Elizabeth became the mother of Jarrett Phelps January 18, 1775. Elizabeth became the mother of Elizabeth Phelps September 25, 1777. He married Susannah Simmons in Beargrass, Jefferson Co., VA (now KY), February 5, 1785. Susannah was born in Maryland 1763. Susannah was the daughter of Samuel Simmons and Verlinda Willett. Susannah died ca 1803 in Kentucky. At 22 years of age Susannah became the mother of Susanna Phelps in Jefferson Co., KY, December 25, 1785. At 24 years of age Susannah became the mother of Nancy Phelps in Kentucky, February 20, 1788. At 28 years of age Susannah became the mother of Guy Phelps in Kentucky, March 5, 1792. George Rogers Clark and lived in Louisville (then called Beargrass) for a time before settling on his 1,400 acre land grant in Madison County, KY. In 1780 he was at Fort Jefferson in present day Ballard County, Kentucky.

18. Thomas3 Phelps, Jr. (Thomas4, John?5) was born in Henrico Co., VA circa 1725. Thomas died March 5, 1797 in Bullitt Co., KY, at 71 years of age.

He married Sarah Guy in Virginia, before 1755. Sarah was the daughter of George Guy and Lucy Moore. Sarah became the mother of Elizabeth Phelps Buckingham Co., VA. Sarah became the mother of Josiah Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, February 11, 1755. Sarah became the mother of George Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, 1757. Sarah became the mother of Lucy Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, July, 1761. Sarah became the mother of Anthony Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, September 13, 1763. Sarah became the mother of Edwin Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, 1767. Sarah became the mother of Sarah Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, 1771. Sarah became the mother of Guy Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, 1774.

Thomas became the father of Elizabeth Phelps Buckingham Co., VA. At 29 years of age Thomas became the father of Josiah Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, February 11, 1755. At 32 years of age Thomas became the father of George Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, 1757. At 36 years of age Thomas became the father of Lucy Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, July, 1761. At 38 years of age Thomas became the father of Anthony Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, September 13, 1763. At 42 years of age Thomas became the father of Edwin Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, 1767. At 46 years of age Thomas became the father of Sarah Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, 1771. At 49 years of age Thomas became the father of Guy Phelps Buckingham Co., VA, 1774. Thomas Phelps, Jr. and his family moved to Boonesborough in 1778 from Virginia. In 1780-81 he and his family were at Fort Jefferson in present day Ballard County, Kentucky where he farmed 6 acres of corn, beans and vegetables. He was living in Jefferson County, VA (now KY) in 1784.

The tenth day of March, I Elizabeth Simmons being sick in body but of good and perfect memory, thanks be to Almighty God and calling to remembrance the Christian estate of this transitory life and that all flesh must yield unto death when it shall please God to call, do make, constitute, ordain, and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following, revoking and annulling all and every testament and testimonial will and wills heretofore by me made and declared either by word or writing.
