He married twice. He married Catherine Smith May 5, 1754. Catherine was born April 6, 1735. Catherine died before July 22, 1790 at approximately 55 years of age. At 20 years of age Catherine became the mother of James Turner November 21, 1755. At 23 years of age Catherine became the mother of Rachel Turner in Rowan Co., NC, October 19, 1758. At 25 years of age Catherine became the mother of Edward Turner in Rowan Co., NC, September 15, 1760. At 27 years of age Catherine became the mother of Rebecca Turner in Rowan Co., NC, May 1, 1762. In the name of God Amen I Thomas Turner of the county of Madison and State of Kentucky do make ordain and declare this instrument to be my last will and Testament revoking all others by me made. First all my just debts to be punctually paid second I give to my two youngest Sons Thomas and Benjamin my tract of land on which I now live to be equally divided between them at my decease 3rd i give to my Son Thomas Turner my negro Boy Frank and one feather Bed and furniture and that he should keep the horses and saddle and bridle that he now claims.
