Past Events

W-L's 75th Anniversary Celebration was held Memorial Day weekend (May 25-28, 2000).  We had almost 30 people from our class attend...including alumni from Woodlawn!  We had classmates from Florida, Illinois, New York, and Kansas.  Plus several traveled from Williamsburg and Richmond.

Door Prizes donated from some our classmates were awarded during the day on Saturday.  Thanks to all who donated.  Also, before the Saturday evening festivities, a group of about 20 got together for dinner at a local restaurant.  Everyone had a great time.

Below are some highlights from the celebration:

Thursday night was the ribbon-cutting ceremony with a graduate of the 1927 class in attendance. Also Mr. Christie, who was a Chemistry teacher at W-L from 1929-1972, attended. A tour of the school was provided after the ceremony.

The golf tournament was held on Friday.

On Saturday, participating classes had tables in the cafeteria where friends could meet and reminisce.  Estimated attendance was over 800.

The library held displays of W-L's rich history...actors who attended...sports displays including football jackets, cheerleading outfits...and mother/daughter prom dresses.

Saturday evening included the talent show and dance.  The highlight of the evening were the Madrigals (made up of classes from the 60s through the 90s) singing during the talent show.

On Sunday, due to rain, the picnic was moved to W-L's cafeteria.  We had great attendance that day despite the weather.
