Greetings from Somerset West. Still called the dorp among most residents, Somerset West is now part of the Cape Town Metropolitan Area and located 50 km east of the city. It is considered to be one of the most attractive holiday destinations in South Africa, with its Helderberg and Hottentots-Holland Mountains surrounding it. Splendid beaches can be found in Strand and Gordon's Bay. Our website reflects our interests, especially indigenous gardening and birding. Our mini-botanical garden features many interesting species.
