"How many pairs of shoes do you have, anyway?" Colin
Mochrie asked,
lounging on the bed, half a pint of ice cream sitting open in
front of him.
Ryan Stiles, kneeling just inside of his walk-in closet, pulled a
zebra-
striped pair out of a corner and clambered to his feet.
"I dunno...maybe
a hundred?" He swiped the ice cream carton from the
bed, pulling
the spoon from a stunned Colin's mouth. Ryan sat on the
edge of the
bed and poked at the ice cream, frowning. "Since when
do you like mint?"
Colin flung himself across Ryan's lap, reaching for the ice
cream. "Since
you wear zebra shoes," he grunted. Ryan stretched,
taking advantage of
his height to keep the carton out of Colin's reach.
"Dammit, Ryan, give
that *back*--"
Colin noticed, suddenly, that while he had been straining for the
ice cream
he had somehow ended up straddling Ryan, his groin settled snugly
against
his friend's. Ryan seemed to notice at the same time,
sucking in a breath
and frowning.
Colin shivered, not bothering to keep up the pretense of the ice
cream.
He rested his hands on Ryan's chest, closing his eyes and
sighing. Ryan
put one of his hands over one of Colin's, stroking his thumb over
the back
of his friend's hand.
Colin's eyes flew open suddenly, half a thought running into
another half
and making a whole thought. "Ryan . . ." he
gasped, " . . . rehearsal.
Ten minutes from now."
Ryan groaned in annoyance. "Let's skip . . . "
Colin shook his head, pulling reluctantly away.
"Can't." He retrieved
the neglected ice cream carton and started out of the bedroom
toward
the kitchen.
"Colin."
He stopped, looked back. It was a mistake. Ryan
looked deliciously
rumpled, leaning back on the bed, staring at Colin with
half-closed eyes.
Colin swallowed heavily, struggling to control his arousal.
"Later?" Ryan asked, not so much a question as
confirmation.
"Yeah," Colin choked, escaping into the kitchen.
He shoved the ice
cream into the freezer, pushing his head momentarily into the
blessed
coolness. Get it together, Mochrie, he thought.
"Ready?" A voice asked from the doorway. Colin
jumped, then
realized it was just Ryan.
"Yeah," he managed, hurrying for the door.
"Let's go."
