Established January 25, 1953

West Leisenring is a community of around 500 residents located about 3 miles northeast of Uniontown, PA and about 50 miles South of Pittsburgh, PA.  West Leisenring is an old coal-mining town situated on the North Union Twp. and Dunbar Twp. border We provide fire and rescue services to residents of North Union Twp. along with the North Union Twp. VFD and a small part of Dunbar Twp. in Fayette County.  We also provide mutual aide to departments in surrounding townships and municipalities.  We answered 373 alarms in 2007, which made us one of the busiest departments in Fayette County.  Our protection district is primarily rural, with some residential areas as you get closer to the city of Uniontown.
