Her basic training was in North Carolina and her speciality training was in Oklahoma. Thereafter she was assigned to El Toro and workeded as a mechanic, fitting new equipment into planes returned fr m overseas. In June 1945, while at El Toro, she married a Marine Pilot, 1st. Lt. Lee Sheldon who was immediately shipped overseas and died when his entire squadron crashed into a mountainside in China in December 1945. I'd love to hear from any of her comrades. |

I do still miss it at times. You never forget fellow Marines. I was with the 2nd FSSG 2nd Maintenance Battalion at Camp LeJuene NC. I was discharged in 1980. |
