West Michigan Lace Group - Designer's Challenge
Pattern from our July Newsletter
Here is a simple split ring 5 petal flower, which could make a nice little bookmark. Do not reverse work (RW) unless the pattern states. Start each ring very close to the previous ring, leave no gaps between rings. Switch Shuttles (SS) means to use the other shuttle when tatting the ring. A Ring (R) is a regular ring, made with one shuttle. Split Rings (SR) use a / to separate the first half of the SR from the second half of the SR
Two shuttles, continuous wound
Repeat from * until you have enough flowers to make a book mark.
Lay your daisy chain out flat, and look at it. The flowers alternate, it is not a straight piece. It's pretty as is, but would look more finished with an edging around the outside.
Here comes the challenge part. When you have made enough daisies for your bookmark, (5 or 7 looks pretty good to me) you can finish your daisy chain by making a little edging around the outside. Tatter's choice! When you get a finish you like, write it down and share with us! I'm looking forward to seeing some creative bookmarks!
