BAN HUNTING - NOW!

If you are part of the 80% of this countrys population who want to see the back of bloodsports, then now is the time to voice your opinion and get active!! Anti-hunt MP`s, The National Anti-Hunt Campaign and numerous other groups are calling for the re-introduction of the Hunting Bill and the general public need to put loads of pressure on the government NOW to make sure they finally honour their numerous pledges to ban hunting.

An amazing 273 MP`s, including more than half of all Labour`s MP`s, have signed the Commons Early Day Motion(EDM) No.978, tabled by Labour MP Gerald Kaufman, calling on the Government to reintroduce the Hunting Bill in this session of parliament. No other motion in this parliament - and there have been more than 1,000 - has attracted as many signatures. The government can be in no doubt as to the strength of opinion on its backbenches.

Get Active and Save Animals NOW!! The cub hunting season has just begun, when young hounds are trained to hunt(more details below). You can help stop this out in the field NOW. And in November, the full fox hunting season will get under way, when you really can save lives with your local hunt sab group. Click here to find your local group in the Midlands or contact the Hunt Saboteurs Association, click their logo to the left. Cub Hunting Foxhounds do not naturally kill foxes - they have to be trained to do so. This is done each autumn through cubhunting, which claims the lives of 8,000-10,000 cubs annually. As early as six in the morning, deep in the countryside and well away from the disapproving eyes of the public, horses and riders will form a circle around an area of woodland in which cubs are known to dwell. The earth will be then be dug out and the new hounds encouraged to maul the 5-6 month-old cubs. Because of the inexperience of these dogs, the cubs may take some minutes to die. Local Hunt Sab Groups

The National Anti-Hunt Campaign Founded in 1992, the NAHC has mounted many high-profile campaigns against hunting. They have organised Britain's biggest ever anti-hunt protest and the country's biggest animal welfare petition. They have carried out undercover investigations, held exhibitions and publicity stunts, produced award-winning adverts and distributed over a million leaflets exposing the horror of hunting. About a year ago, the National Anti-Hunt Campaign offices were broken into and everything trashed or stolen!!! As well as all their merchandise, this included the computer which contained their mailing list. They have been unable to do any mailouts since!  They now intend to rebuild their mailing list and encourage thousands of people to put pressure on the government to ban fox hunting once and for all. They have just produced a newsletter which includes details of the present situation re the Hunting Bill and a great postcard to send to Tony Bliar which lists all his previous quotes re his committment to ban hunting! They have thousands of these postcards for us to distribute amongst the public, to ensure his postbag gets weighed down with `em!!
