Newchurch Farm to Close Down!!!

After 6 years of tireless campaigning, it was announced today that Newchurch Farm in Staffordshire will cease breeding guinea pigs for vivisection by the end of 2005!! Today is truly an historic day for the rights of animals not to be exploited, tortured and murdered for profit!! VICTORY for the GUINEA PIGS!!!

Of course, the farm owners will not be allowing the remaining guinea pigs to be found loving homes, they will all end up suffering in a laboratory or have their necks broken at the farm as worthless victims! The campaign against this animal hellhole will continue until all the guinea pig sheds stand empty, but that will not stop us celebrating this mammoth success. No longer will stressed mothers be forced into a constant cycle of giving birth so their babies can be snatched from them. No longer will these innocent guinea pigs die to `test` house & garden products in laboratories across Europe. And no longer will this filthy, evil business make money from the suffering of animals & humans alike!!

The corporate media coverage of this huge victory has, as you might have come to expect, been as hysterically biased as ever. Headline news on every channel, there has been much talk of terrorists and extremists, but the reality is very different. The vast majority of protests have been entirely peaceful and legal, none of the farms owners, employees or anyone else connected to the farm has ever been injured. In contrast, protesters have sustained serious injuries on numerous occasions, after being attacked by the private security guards, workers & their supporters.

The National March & Rally in September, will go ahead as planned. The streets of Burton on Trent will once again come alive with the sound of compassion, but this time, the event will also quite rightly be a time to celebrate with the hundreds of protesters that will flock from across the country!
