STOP THE OXFORD LAB
posted 1-12-05
You may have heard via the media that building work on the Oxford University animal lab restarted on Wednesday 30th November!! We can not and will not stand by whilst another death camp for sentient creatures is built. This lab has nothing to do with finding cures for disease, the results of tests on animals can not be applied to humans as we differ from them in so many ways, so it`s no wonder that drugs tested on animals kill many 1,000`s of people every year, and maim 100,000`s more!!! (click the link below to read the facts)

Vivisection Is Scientific Fraud
It continues purely to make profit for the pharmaceutical industry!!

It is the duty of every man, woman and child with any compassion in their bones to stand up and fight against this corporate greed that will result in mammoth animal suffering! Building work was halted before for a period of 16 months. With enough effort, we can and will stop them again, but this time we need to ensure that this whole project is scrapped, and that money is instead ploughed into state of the art research that does not involve butchering animals to death!!
A National March & Rally is planned for 14th January 2006, when Oxford will be the scene of one of the largest animal rights demonstrations in recent years. HUGE NUMBERS = HUGE IMPACT!!! Coach transport is already booked to take people from the West Midlands, click the banner above for more details including how to book seats.

National demos alone will NOT stop this hellhole being built!!

If the animal rights movement is going to stop this new death camp, we have to take effective, peaceful action as often as possible! Please support the SPEAK Campaign in this battle, there are many ways you can help:

1. Join the weekly demo at the lab site on South Parks Road between 1pm and 5pm on Thursday afternoons. Due to the High Court Injunction, demos immediately outside the lab site are restricted to this day. Do your best to get there and support the regulars who attend week after week.
2. The High Court Injunction DOES NOT stop demos on other days of the week! Highly effective demos can be held outside of the exclusion zone on South Parks Road and in the City Centre. Stay in touch with the SPEAK Campaign, and join as many of their Oxford demos as possible.
3. Sign up to recieve the SPEAK Campaigns action alerts via email, and voice your disgust to those who support this torture lab being built - via email, letter and phone. It is not illegal to make these companies aware of the FACTS re vivisection, and many such companies pull out when they realise what they are involved in!
4. Contact SPEAK for leaflets, posters, petitions etc and get out on the streets of your own town and raise awareness of the issues. Our most effective weapon is the TRUTH!!
5. Join SPEAK, send them donations, fundraise for them and support the campaign in any other way you can.
