Report from Ursula Bates of
Solihull Animal Aid

Viva!'s Solihull Veggie Roadshow on Saturday 29th January 2005 was the best yet with an amazing 1,418 people coming through the doors....far more than at their Brighton show.

The show was opened by Radio WM Late Night Show Presenters, Julie Mayer and Tony Wadsworth, who had a great time meeting their fans, tasting the fab food on offer and learning about 'Going Veggie' and animal issues.

The kitchen 'staff' worked flat out all day long, as did those serving hot and cold food tasters....only complaint was that those serving the food were so busy they hardly got to eat anything themselves!

It was a happy, inspiring and uplifting day attended by many meat-eaters as well as lots of veggies and vegans....young and old.
Thanks again to all those who helped in any way on the day - especially the
kitchen 'slaves'!

A similar, but probably much larger event,
The Heart of England Vegan Festival, will be staged at the Carling Academy in Birmingham City Centre on Saturday 18th June 2005. On top of loads of delicious vegan food, there will also be up to 80 stalls selling all kinds of ethical, cruelty-free products including vegan pet food, cosmetics, wines, books and loads more. There will also be speakers, performers, kids entertainment and a creche.
