Water Festival (Songkran)

During the middle of April the Thai people celebrate their New Year or Songkran. Songkran is a Thai word that means "move" or "change place" as it is the day when the sun changes its position in the zodiac. It is also known as the "Water Festival" as people believe that the splashing or the pouring of water on a person will wash away their bad luck. Between the 635th SPS and the 307th MMS we were washing away bad luck by the bus loads.

Washing away bad mojo by the bus loads.

And another bus bites the dust.

They are lined up as far as the eye can see.

You can run, but you can't hide.

Waiting on their prey.

Say what you will, but cups, hoses, trash cans and water condoms just "ain't no match for a water cannon". The Navy had a contingent of sub chasers on base, or at least this is what they said. They also had a pumper. Did the 635th SPS and 307th MMS walk away from the Navy like WHIPPED PUPPIES? Just 4 words....

"....ain't no freakin way".

This is one of my favorite shots. Is this justice or WHAT?
