The Top Ten Generation X Videos of 2000

Introduction:

Way back in the early 80’s I realized that I really like movies. I mean really, really like movies. My Uncle Harley was working at the revered trade magazine Boxoffice, and every vacation that I spent in LA (I lived in San Diego at the time), I got to go to press screenings. I saw Back to the Future about a month before it was released (and I correctly predicted it would be a blockbuster). Not all of them were great, but they were a lot of fun. I liked to hang out at the editorial offices of Boxoffice, and make my own "Newsletters" that I gave to my friends and family. Movie reviews were a HUGE part of those photocopied journals. I still have all of them. Scary isn’t it?

Cut to High School, 10th grade. I signed up for Journalism Class, and thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. It was always my favorite class, even when it was moved from being the last period of the day to being the first period. I spent three years in that class, eventually becoming Co-Editor of "The Phoenix" our monthly paper. Of course, I was the sole movie reviewer for the rag. I even broke the rules, reviewing R rated films when I wasn’t supposed to.

I stopped reviewing movies after High School, having dropped out of college, there wasn’t any forums for me. Then in 1996 I started Noetling’s Notables, e-mailing a weekly newsletter of nothing but reviews. This lasted about two years before I got REALLY tired of doing it.

Anyway, I figured that my site needed more content, so here it is. About a month ago I posted the first review I’d written in a while as part of my weekly column. I know I’ve got a lot of catching up to do, and I promise to do so really soon. Until then, enjoy the lists, and the quick ratings.

Oh and if you have any requests, don’t hesitate to e-mail me. Comments and suggestions are welcome too!
