The Wings are my all time favorite team and I pretty much love anyone who plays for them (except for a few who shall remain nameless *coughUwe*coughKrupp*coughcough*).
However, being a fan of the game of hockey, I appreciate the work of many other players.  These are just a few of my favorites from the opposition.
Pavel Bure plays for the Florida Panthers and was named last year's All-Star MVP.  He scored a hat trick for the World All-Stars in their 9-4 win over the North America team.
This is Pavel with his brother Valeri.  Valeri assisted on 2 of Pavel's 3 goals and Pavel said he would share the MVP (and the SUV that came with it) with his younger bro.
David Legwand is a Detroit area native, drafted by Nashville in 1998. He's shown a lot of grit and awesome potential.  I've even forgiven him for the goals he has scored against Detroit.
Tommy Salo is the
Edmonton Oilers netminder.  Other teams get a little nervous when they have to face Salo.  He was also in net for Team Sweden in the 1998 Nagano Olympics and for the World All-Stars in 2000.
Peter Forsberg
I'll probably be hanged for this one, I know.  If the guy didn't play for the Avs I'd like him a lot more.   When he's in a Colorado jersey, I can't stand him.  When he's in the cheerful colors of Sweden, I can like him all I want.
Mats Sundin is
captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs.  He's a great leader and an awesome player to watch.  He joined Salo and Forsberg and  played for Sweden in 1998.
Curtis Joseph is another Maple Leaf.  He's a great goalie and another fun guy to watch.
And boy, is that mask scary.
Raaar, Cujo!
Martin Brodeur...
Yeah, he plays for the Devils. I got over it. (But I'm still bitter about '95!)  Marty is one of the best goaltenders in the league and is one of my favorite goalies to watch.  He was absolutely stellar in the Cup finals this year.  Congratulations to Marty and the Devils on their Stanley Cup victory. Just don't get too attached...the Wings want their Cup back!
