VH1's "I Love the 80's" Gives My Life Meaning                                                                                     Late Fall 2003

VH1's "I Love the 80's" and "I Love the 80's Strikes Back" is my latest reason for living. O.k., fine, for getting out of bed early on Sundays and going to sleep late on any given night.

This is the
best shit on TV since "State of Grace" two years ago! I'm hooked, I'm addicted, I am reliving the happy parts of my childhood all over again. I have watched "Strikes Back" at least eight times in the last 2 weeks and I still yearn for more!

Here's the thing with these programs: the witty, sarcastic commentary makes it so damn funny and
true! I particularly love Hal Sparks, Mo Rocca, Donal Logue and Michael Ian Black. They totally make the show! These guys (and some of the other ones) are saying out loud the very same thoughts I've had.

There's also this whole level of bonding that the programs bring. Bring up the series around anyone who grew up in the 80's, and it's an instant connection. You're laughing, you're joking, you're feeling the love.

For my best friend and I, it's not only discussing all these old things that shaped our childhood, it's remembering how we shared those things together. We find ourselves talking about our days back in elementary school, and how certain movies, toys or songs featured prominently in any one of our daily dramas.

"I Love the 80's" totally rocks!  When are they going to roll out VH1's "I Love the 90's"??
