Individual Recognition
Think of the people you know who should join Toastmasters.  Make a list, speak with each one, invite them to your Club meeting.  No need to be shy.  Think of what Toastmasters has done for you.  The same can be said for many others, now and in the future.  Give them the opportunity!  Track your progress using the sheet below.  Eighty years...consider the effect your efforts today can have on the world tomorrow.  You encourage five people to join, they each encourage five people to join, who each encourage five people to join.  You can see where this is going.  Over the space of a few years your invitation can positively affect scores, even hundreds, of people.  Aside from feeling good about your contribution you can earn the following:
This membership program begins July 1 and ends June 30.
All members of Toastmasters Clubs are eligible and are encouraged to participate.
To receive credit as a sponsor your name must appear on the Application for Toastmasters Club Membership (Form 400) along with your home Club number.  Please print or type information legibly.  Changes can only be made online once applications are submitted to World Headquarters.

Club Recognition
Whether your Club has been in existence for 80 days, 80 months, or 80 years, you can be proud of your accomplishments!  Join Toastmasters International in celebrating our Diamond Jubilee by working to ensure the long-term success of your club.  How?  By reaching and maintaining a membership level that promotes the individual success of each member.  How many members?  At least 20.  With 20 members you'll have plenty of people to fill your speaking assignments, participate in Table Topics, and give effective evaluations.

Earn a special Diamond Jubilee ribbon for your Club's banner by reaching 20 members (if you're
not yet at that level) or adding a net total of five members.  For example, if your Club's membership base* is 17, you need only have a final  membership count** of 20!  If you have 11 members, reach 16!  If you have 20 members, reach 25!

Wonder what your membership count is?  Beginning in August  you'll be able to visit  www.toastmasters.org every month and track your Club's Distinguished Club Program (DCP) progress. Your club's membership base and current membership count will be listed with your DCP tracking information.
Club membership base for Toastmasters Year:* Club membership level at April 30:

Smedley Award
Five New Members in August/September
October 1924 was when it all began. Ralph Smedley and a few men met in the Santa Ana, California YMCA and conducted the first meeting of what would eventually evolve into what we know today as Toastmasters.  One person initiated a program that would go on to affect millions of people.
In his honor, can your Club add five new members between August 1 and September 30?  If so your club will qualify to receive a Smedley Award ribbon for display on your Club's banner.

Talk Up Toastmasters!
Five New Members in February/March
Yes, there must be a plan. Whether you're  building a skyscraper or building membership in your Club, you need a blueprint to follow.  Most Toastmasters Clubs are overflowing with enthusiastic members who can't wait to tell others about Toastmasters...but never get around to it.  Get organized!  Separate your members into teams and challenge then to outdo each other in bringing guests and signing up new members.

Scores of Clubs organize successful membership building campaigns each year. Toastmasters International would like to know the secrets and strategies that lie behind these efforts.

What's in it for you?  If your program is selected as one of the top five, you'll receive recognition at the Hall of Fame ceremonies during the International Convention.  Your ideas may even be published in
The Toastmaster magazine or another Toastmasters International publication.
To enter, submit a description of your Club's contest to the Membership and Club Extension Department at World Headquarters. Be sure to describe in detail your program's:

OBJECTIVES
- How many members did you start with and what is your goal?

AWARDS
- What incentives did you provide to the members of your Club?

CALENDAR
- How long was the program? A full year? Six months? Three months?

PROMOTION
- How was the program promoted to the members of your Club?

SUCCESS
- Did you reach the goal, or are you on track?

Beat the Clock.
Five New Members in May/June
This isn't about finishing a speech on time: it's about finishing the year with a bang!  With each new member your Club comes closer to meeting a Distinguished Club Program new member requirement.

In addition, Clubs adding five new, dual, or reinstated members during these two months earn a choice of one item from
The Better Speaker Series or The Successful Club Series. These short (7-15 minute) educational modules focus on speaking and Club success, with topics such as Take the Terror out of a Talk, Evaluate to Motivate, Impromptu Speaking, and many more.
Make earning the Beat the Clock! award a Club goal and formulate a contest in your Club to motivate every member to get involved.  If you need contest ideas contact World Headquarters and ask for a free copy of Membership Building 101 (Catalog No. 1622) or A Sample Membership Building Contest (Catalog No. 1621), or obtain them at the Toastmasters International website at www.toastmasters.org.
New memberships must he received at World Headquarters between May 1 and June 30.
