| Dennis was born July 4th 1941 in Winnamucca, Nevada. As a young boy he went to live with his father "Sam" Emile DesJardins and his new wife Juanita. Sam was a brick mason by trade and taught Dennis about hard work. His mother was Helen Deffenbough and she had also remarried to a Mr. Henson. Dennis has two brothers (living) Gary and Roger. He soon went into the Airforce for a couple years and then he did some drag racing and went to Beauty college. It was in beauty college (at the age of 24) where he met his first wife, Laura Harper. He worked as a Chef in a boarding home and did hair for a few extra bucks. With in a couple years he had two sons (Des Emeile and Shaun Robert) and a full time job at Crown Zellerbach. In 1968 Dennis became a guide and had hunting dogs. They hunted bear, bobcats, mountain Lion and deer. He loved to camp and fish with his family and caught a few stergeon in his time. In 1971 he was single again and in 1978 when he had a third son (Ryan DesJardins).. Dennis married three times after Laura and years later he met Maria (about 1989) and became a craftsman and made some beautiful knives. He loved his art work and creations. Dennis and Maria lived in Plains MT. and had planned to open a Bed and Breafast one day. He collected guns and was a collector of many odd things. Dennis played a small part in the movie "Dances With Wolves". He was able to meet the stars and get autographs and send the boys special shirts, etc. from the movie. |
