In the book: "HURSTS OF SHENANDOAH", Written by J. C. Hurst,
we find many HURST families and short stories. Much of my info came from this book.
Below is a quote from the PREFACE of the book:

"Many years ago B. F. Hurst, of Corydon, Indiana, would pay an anual visit to the home of my father, William L. Hurst, at Campton, Kentucky
. He would usually stay about two weeks. Much or the time was spent discussing the HURST family history and trying to connect the two families. I began to examine the data which had been preserved by my father and found it to be very interesting.

I then began a systematic search of official records in the different sections where they
had lived. This included deeds, marriages records, vital statistics, tombstones, etc.
I also obtained a thorough checking og the census in Washington. After spending many years in this research I discovered that I had accumulated such a vast amount of information that it would require volumes to contain all of it. I then decided that the most important parts of it should be preserved."

The branch of the HURST family is to be discussed herin was founded in America about the year 1730 by three brothers; William, James and John, who came from Buckinghamshire, England. They were each married before coming and some of their children were born there. The names of the wives of James and John were unknown; but William married Judith Caffrey (Irish). Their father was HENRY, born in Buckinghamshire in 1679. It is reported from a number of sources that he came here with them, however this fact has not been established by any records.

Henry's father was William, born 1640, died 1700, whose fater was Christopher,
born 1612, died 1659. The father of Christopher was William, born 1550, who married
Margey Blackmore, October 19, 1601.The above named were ALL born in England.

This page is from the book and is copywrited so may not be able to add this info to my GENEALOGY pages for family records. Will check this out....
